Akhil Bharatiya Congress Committee spokesman and party's communications commissioner Priyanka Chaturvedi quit her party of 10 years and joined the Shiv Sena, alleging "misbehaved" with her. Chaturvedi has sent her resignation letter to party president Rahul Gandhi.

Expressing his grief over the alleged misbehavior of party workers during the past week and the attitude of the leadership of the party, she said that she is feeling that she has started paying the price of self-respect in the Congress. She said that I am very sad that more goons are getting preference from those who have died in Congress.

Tweeting out the resignation letter addressed to party chief Rahul Gandhi, Chaturvedi said, "I am absolutely overwhelmed and grateful with the love and support I have got across the board from the nation in the past 3 days. I consider myself blessed with this immense outpouring of support. Thank you to all who have been a part of this journey."

"Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get preference in @incindia over those who have given their sweat and blood. Having faced brickbats and abuse across the board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate," Chaturvedi said on Twitter after reports of the party workers getting reinstated.

It has been told that Chaturvedi had surrounded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a press conference on the Rafael issue in Mathura, a few days ago, in which local Congress workers of the Congress had mistreated her. After that, those workers were disciplined, but later the action was canceled after the big leaders asked them to do so.
