Jammu & Kashmir: Pakistan Army trade fire on Line of Control

Pakistani Army, again violating the ceasefire, on Wednesday unarmed firing on the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Official sources said that Pakistani soldiers fired at the Indian army's forward posts in Gulpur area of Poonch in the morning.

"At about 0900 hours, Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by small arms and heavy calibre weapons besides shelling in Poonch," he said, adding Indian troops retaliated strongly.

Pakistan has consistently violated 2003 ceasefire agreement with India. Indian soldiers also fired in counterattack. There is no report of any injuries or any major damage to the firing between the two sides.

Fire and firearms were started in the area last week and have been continuously continuing since then.
