Jammu & Kashmir encounter: 5 militants including Lashkar commander Ali Killed

Five militants have been killed and four encounters are underway at separate places in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours. It is said that 2-3 terrorists to be trapped inside a house in Ratnipora. During the encounter in Bandipora, two terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba have been killed including Lashkar's top commander Ali Bhai.

Similarly, two militants were killed in an encounter in Baramulla district on Thursday. Apart from this, a terrorist has also been killed in Shopian. In all four encounters, five terrorists have been killed so far. Three military worker including one officer were injured during this period. The firing was ongoing from both the sides as of the last update.

A team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and 34 Rashtriya Rifles teams were operating a cordon and search operation in the area.

In Sopore, firing was being carried out in Warpora area, the same site of an encounter on Thursday where two policemen were injured. Police said that there was no news of any militant killed in this gunfight so far.

The injured jawans have been admitted to the 92 Base Hospital in Badami Bagh Cantonment.
