Gujjar Reservation Movement: People from Gujjar community sitting on the railway track, canceling many trains, several diverts

New Delhi: Once again in Guwahati, the Gujjars have started their movement demanding reservation. People from Gujjar community are sitting on the railway track in Maqsudan Pura of Sawai Madhopur. Due to the reservation movement of Gujjars, 5 trains have been canceled, while one has been diverted in the Kota division of West Central Railway Zone.

The agitators say that we have good chief minister and good prime minister. We want them to listen to the demands of the Gujjar community. Providing reservation for them is not a difficult task.

At the same time, a support booth has been opened at the Jaipur station for information on changes in trains and partial canceled trains whose helpline number is 220-1043. Between the Sawai Madhopur in the Kota division of West Central Railway, between Bayana Section-Nimoda, 4 Trains between the Malarna Block Section 4 trains were diverted and 14 were canceled.

It is noteworthy that the Gujjar society is demanding five percent reservation for the people of Gujjar, Rayka-Rabari, Gudiya lure, Banjara and Gadaria society for entry into government jobs and educational institutions. In addition to reservation of other backward classes, in the legal limit of 50 percent, Gujjar is getting reservation of one percent separately under the very backward category.

The state government has set up a high-level committee to interact with agitators who will try to resolve the negotiations with Gujjar leaders. Gujjar leaders have warned against blocking rail and road in support of their demands. The issue of Gujjars movement has been going on from past 14 years.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot appealed to the agitators to maintain peace and said that the Congress government had listened to them earlier and will still listen to them again. Gehlot said, "The government is extremely serious for the solution and serious efforts have been made at the level of the state government, the state government is ready to interact with the Gujjar leaders."
