The Election Commission has decided to withdraw the suspension of the Indian Administrative Service (ISS) officer Mohammad Mohsin, who investigated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's helicopter.
On the basis of the report of the District Election Officer of Sambalpur of Odisha, the Election Commission has directed the Karnataka government to take disciplinary action against Mohsin.
Mr. Mohsin, who was appointed general observer for Sambalpur parliamentary constituency in Odisha, was suspended by the officials on April 16 when officials on election duty "searched" of the helicopter and videographed landing of the helicopter used by Modi to reach Sambalpur.
Significantly, the commission of the Karnataka Cadre, ISS Mohsin, was sent back to Karnataka. The Commission has also instructed Mohsin to immediately release from all work related to elections. Meanwhile, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has also banned Mohsin's suspension.
