Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday said that no civilian traffic would be allowed to ply on the Kashmir highway from Baramulla till Udhampur for twice in a week. The administration has announced it will be implemented immediately on Sunday and Wednesday every week till May 31.
In the official notification Wednesday, it has been said that citizen traffic will be closed on Sunday and Wednesday every week till May 31 on the national highway from Baramulla to Udhampur.
An official said that this decision has been taken to help in the smooth movement of convoy of security forces to eliminate the fear of fidayeen terrorist attacks.
It has been stated in the notification that in the movement of a civilian vehicle passing in any emergency, the police and administrative officials will make appropriate decisions according to the provisions of the traffic during the curfew.
Significantly, on February 14, a CRPF convoy was attacked in Pulwama, in which 40 jawans were killed.
