People in Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are facing severe cold. In Delhi and its adjacent areas, there is also the risk of pollution along with cold. According to the Meteorological Department, fog conditions in Northern India will continue for the next five days. In some places, the weather is expected to go from 1 to 2 degree Celsius.

Due to dense fog and dust cover in the country's capital Delhi, the minimum temperature was 3.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday. It was the coldest day of December with 'severe' air quality. The Meteorological Department said that visibility was 500 meters at 8.30 in the morning and humidity level was 94 percent. An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the sky is partially cloudy. There is a possibility of misty weather in the afternoon.

In Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, it is reported cold. In Punjab, Amritsar, recorded temperature is 3 degree Celsius. At the same time, the cold wave has been increased in the Kashmir Valley. Due to the snowy waves coming from the hills, the temperature of Dras town in the state has been recorded at minus 17.3 degrees. The Meteorological Department said there is no possibility of any relief for the next five days due to the cold of cold. The 40-day period of "Chillai Kalan" of the severe cold in Kashmir Valley continues and it will end on January 30.

Srinagar's minimum temperature is minus 4.4 degree, Pahalgam's minus 6.7 degrees and Gulmarg is minus 5.5 degrees below normal.
