There is a possibility of government formation in the state on Thursday, 16 days after the results of the Maharashtra assembly elections were revealed. Devendra Fadnavis called a meeting on Wednesday to share power, in which 6 Shiv Sena ministers arrived. BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar said that a team of party leaders will meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Thursday. However, Shiv Sena demands that 50-50 formula be applied to the post of Chief Minister. Party leader Sanjay Raut said that party chief Uddhav Thackeray has not received any proposal yet.


On the other hand, NCP chief Sharad Pawar has made it clear that our party and Congress have got the mandate to sit in the opposition and that is the priority of NCP. The term of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly expires on 9 November. Sources told the news agency that a 3-day special session could be called next week for the swearing-in of the new MLAs in this situation. A source attached to the party told news agency ANI that an agreement between the BJP and Shiv Sena on the formation of the government is expected soon.
