Preparations are in full swing for the celebration of India’s 70th Republic Day on January 26. Delhi’s traffic routes, metro schedules all have been aligned with the parade that will take place on Saturday at India Gate.
The parade will start at 9.50 am from Vijay Chowk and pass through Rajpath, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar (BSZ) Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg and proceed towards the Red Fort.
This time the presence of female power will be much more than the previous years. The commander of the Marching squad of the three armies will be the women officer and a female team of Assam Riffles will also show their skills in the parade. Apart from this, a female army officer will show stance on a motorcycle.
For the first time in the parade, the echo of martial tone of the armed forces will be heard. This year, 26 Children, who were awarded the Prime Minister’s National Child Award, will be seen riding in Jeeps. These children have been selected from various areas such as academics, sports, bravery, innovation.
Movement of vehicles on certain roads leading to the parade route will be restricted for the smooth passage of the parade.
