State-run oil marketing companies increased the prices of petrol prices by 5-6 paisa per litre on Monday (April 15), while diesel prices remained unchanged across four major cities in the country.
In national capital Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 72.98 per litre compared with Rs 72.92 on yesterday, while diesel retailed Rs 66.26 a litre, no change compared with Friday’s price.
After today’s rate revision, In Mumbai, the petrol price costs Rs 78.55 (6 paise increase) per litre and diesel costs Rs. 69.35 a litre.
In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 75 a litre, 6 paise increase from yesterday’s price and diesel is sold at Rs 67.90 per litre. People in Chennai have to shell out Rs 75.75 for a litre of petrol while diesel retailed at Rs 69.96 per litre.
Rates of petrol and diesel are determined daily by oil marketing companies on the basis of rupee-dollar rate and global crude oil prices.
