After two days of stability in petrol prices, six paise per liter has been cut on Friday, while diesel prices are steady. Oil marketing companies had increased the price of diesel on Thursday. On the other hand, due to slowdown in the global economy, the price of crude oil has remained low.
According to information from IndianOil website, on Friday, prices of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai decreased to Rs 70.38, Rs 72.49, Rs 76.02 and Rs 73.05 per liter, respectively. In four metros, diesel prices remained steady at Rs 65.56, Rs 67.34, Rs 68.65 and Rs 69.25 per liter, respectively. Diesel prices were up by five paise in Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai and six paise per liter in Chennai on Thursday.
Brent crude's April delivery contract on international market Intercontinental exchange, ie ICE, was trading at $ 61.22 a barrel with a weak 0.67 percent compared to the previous session.
