Petrol and diesel prices drop across major cities on Thursday, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, which will be held from April 11. Petrol rates decreased by 4-5 paise per litre while diesel became cheaper by 10-11 paise.
Petrol prices were decreased in New Delhi by 5 paise to Rs 72.81 a litre on Thursday. Diesel in the Delhi became cheaper by 10 paise to Rs 66.39 .
In Mumbai, the petrol price costs Rs 78.43 a litre and and diesel costs Rs. 69.54 a litre according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website.
In Chennai, petrol costed Rs 75.62 per litre and diesel is sold at Rs 70.15 a litre. In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 74.89 a litre, down 4 paise compared with yesterday’s price, and diesel costs Rs 68.18, down 10 paise from Rs 68.28 a litre on Wednesday.
