Following the daily revision, petrol and diesel prices fell across four major cities according to the Indian Oil Corporation website. Petrol prices in all the metro cities decreased by 25-26 paise per litre while diesel became cheaper by 12-13 paise.
In Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 71.18 per litre after 25 paise cut as against Rs.71.43 on Monday. Diesel retailed at Rs. 65.86 after 12 paise price cut as compared with Rs. 65.98 yesterday's price.
In Kolkata, the retail prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 73.25 a litre and Rs 67.61 a litre respectively, according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website.
Similarly, in Mumbai, citizens have to pay Rs 76.79 a litre for petrol, down 25 paise compared with yesterday’s price of Rs 77.04, and diesel is sold at Rs 69 per litre, 13 paise less than yesterday’s rate of Rs 69.13.
Petrol prices were reduced in Chennai by 23 paise to Rs 73.88 while diesel retailed at Rs 69.61 per litre, 13 Paise down from yesterday's rate.
Worth mentioning here is that the retail fuel prices in Delhi are the cheapest among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes.
