Increase in prices of petrol and diesel continued for the third consecutive day on Saturday. Petrol price was increased by six paise per liter. Diesel prices have increased by seven paise in Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai and eight paise per liter in Mumbai. In three days, petrol has been costlier by 35 paisa a liter in the national capital, while the price of diesel has increased by 38 paisa a liter.
According to IndianOil website, prices of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have gone up by Rs 71.35, Rs 73.45, Rs 76.99 and Rs 74.08 per liter respectively. Prices of diesel have also risen to Rs 66.55 and Rs 68.34 per liter, Rs 69.71 and Rs 70.32 per liter respectively in all the metros.
Brent crude's April delivery contract on the international forward market Intercontinental Exchange, which was trading at $ 66.91 per barrel, was 0.24 per cent lower than the previous session, while earlier it was between 67.06 to 66.87 dollars a barrel.
