After the daily revision in retail fuel prices, petrol and diesel prices fell across four metro cities in the country on Thursday (May 9). Petrol prices in all the metro cities lowered by 15-16 paise per litre while diesel became cheaper by 7-10 paise.
In Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 72.84 per litre after 16 paise cut as against Rs. 73 on Wednesday. Diesel retailed at Rs 66.56, after 10 paise price cut as compared with Rs. 66.66 yesterday's price.
In Kolkata, the petrol price costs Rs 74.88 a litre while diesel costs Rs 68.32 per litre, as per data available with Indian Oil Corp website.
Similarly, in Mumbai, citizens have to pay Rs.78.44 a litre for petrol, down 15 paise compared with yesterday’s price of Rs 78.59 a litre, and diesel is sold at Rs 69.74 per litre, 7 paise less than yesterday’s rate.
In Chennai petrol costs Rs 75.63 while diesel retailed at Rs 70.36 per litre. Rates of petrol and diesel are determined daily by oil marketing companies on the basis of rupee-dollar rate and global crude oil prices.
