State-run oil marketing companies kept the retail petrol prices static across major cities of the country on Thursday (May 16). However, diesel prices were increased by 5 paise across four metropolitan cities.
In Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 71.18 per litre while diesel retailed at Rs. 65.91 per litre as compared with Rs 65.86 a litre on Wednesday.
In Kolkata, the retail prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 73.25 a litre and Rs 67.66 (5 Paise increase) a litre respectively, according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website.
Similarly, in Mumbai, citizens have to pay Rs 76.79 a litre for petrol, while diesel is sold at Rs 69.05 per litre, 5 paise increase from yesterday’s rate of Rs 69.
Petrol is being sold at Rs. 73.88 a litre in Chennai while diesel retailed at Rs 69.66 per litre, 5 Paise increase from yesterday's rate.
