State-controlled oil marketing companies kept the retail petrol and diesel prices static across major cities of the country on Friday (May 3).
In national capital Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 73.07 per litre while diesel retailed at Rs 66.66, no change compared to yesterday's price.
In Mumbai, the petrol costs Rs 78.64 per litre while diesel costs Rs 69.77 per litre, according to Indian Oil Corporation website.
Similarly, in Chennai citizens have to pay Rs Rs 75.84 a litre and Rs 70.39 for petrol and diesel respectively. In Kolkata, the retail prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 75.08 a litre and Rs 68.39 a litre respectively.
On Thursday petrol prices in all the metro cities lowered by 6-7 paise per litre while diesel became cheaper by 5-6 paise.
