Petrol and diesel prices rose by 5 paise across four major cities in the country on Monday according to the Indian Oil Corporation website.
In Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 73.13 per litre while diesel retailed at Rs 66.71, 5 paise more than yesterday’s price.
In Mumbai, the petrol price costs Rs 78.70 per litre of petrol while diesel costs Rs 69.83 per litre, a 5 paise jump from yesterday’s rate.
Similarly, in Chennai citizens have to pay Rs Rs 75.90 a litre and Rs 70.44 (5 paise increase) per litre respectively after a hike of Rs. 5.
People in Kolkata have to shell out Rs 75.15 for a litre of petrol while diesel costs Rs 68.45 per litre, 5 paise more than yesterday’s price.
Rates of petrol and diesel are determined daily by oil marketing companies on the basis of rupee-dollar rate and global crude oil prices.
