Petrol and diesel prices change daily In india at 6 am in the morning since June 16, 2017. Prior to this, the prices of petrol were changed on a fortnightly basis.
Retail petrol, diesel prices were cut on Tuesday and after today’s price revision, petrol became cheaper by 5 paise across major cities of the country while diesel prices fell by 7 paise per litre.
Petrol prices in Delhi, today reduced by five paise and it is sold at Rs. 72.41 per liter, while the same reduction in diesel and its reached at Rs. 67.37.
According to Indian Oil Corporation website In kolkata, petrol and diesel are sold at Rs 74.49 a litre and Rs 69.16 a litre respectively.
In Mumbai,retail price of petrol us Rs 78.04 a litre, and diesel retail price is Rs 70.58. Citizens in Chennai have to shell out Rs 75.20 for a litre of petrol while diesel retailed at Rs 71.20 per litre.
The purpose behind the introduction of change was that the switchers would help dealers to earn the benefits of minute change at the global level.
