Business| Jindal Steel and Power has emerged as the company offering the supply at the lowest price for the supply of 4.45 lakh tonnes of railway tracks to the Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL). This information was given by an official of the company. The official said that the company's bid is about Rs 3,300 crore.
Rail Vikas Corporation is the unit of Railway Ministry. JSPL's Joint Managing Director N.A. Ansari said that RVNL had issued tenders for supply of 4.45 lakh tonnes last year. The company also participated in it. He said, "We have emerged as the lowest bidder for this contract. Now RVNL is examining other aspects before giving the contract. We hope to progress positively soon.'
However, RVNL has not responded to the email so far. Jindal already has a railway track order. Recently, JSPL received an additional order of Rs 650 crore. Under this, the company has to supply 30 thousand tonnes of railway tracks.
So far, Jindal Steel and Power has supplied 62,400 tonne of train tracks to Indian Railways. The company will soon supply 1 lakh tonne track. Railways now issue global tenders for tracks. In which companies from all over the world are involved.
