Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held his first GST Council meeting after the formation of new government. Through this meeting, efforts have been made to give some relief to the traders. Revenue Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey said, “While giving relief to the paperwork to get the GST registration for the traders now, one of the major changes we have simplified GST registration. In the earlier system, people had to give different documents. Now we have decided to use the Aadhaar card. By using the base, the business will have many benefits”.
Ajay Bhushan said that business applications can be made online. For this, they can register themselves on GSTN portal through OTP using their base number and get GSTN registration number. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a meeting with the State Finance Ministers. In the pre-budget meeting, he said that the center decides the direction of economic growth, but it is the work of states to ensure its effective implementation on the ground. Nirmala Sitharaman further said that unless the State and the Center will work together, the goals can’t be achieved.
