In one of our previous articles we told you about the weird superstitious beliefs of Bollywood Celebrities but you’ll be surprised to know that our Indian cricketers are no behind. They rely on certain techniques and gestures, which they believe brings them good luck in matches and in most, even the reason for their continued success.
The Captain of Indian Cricket and this super talented cricketer wears the same pair of ‘lucky’ gloves which he believes are the reason behind those hard hitting sixes and match wins. He’s so suspicious of wearing them, that he used to once keep wearing the same pair of gloves in every match – only to realize later, that it’s his hard work and sheer talent for his successful cricketing career.
Our very own Master Blaster, during his active years, be it a mere practice session or the World Cup final, always began to suit up for the event by padding up his left foot first. This unusual practice helped him calm his nerves before going in front of the large audience that came to see him and helped him to win the matches.

The Captain cool is not known for just one superstition but two! Firstly, the 36-year-old batsman has a habit of collecting a stump to commemorate every victory. Secondly, he believes in always wearing a special number of jersey (Number 7) which is not hard to miss. He was born on 7th July and hence wears that number on his jersey.
The explosive Indian opener had the superstition of not having any number on his back while he played. He believed in numerology and every time he stepped out on to the field, he would walk with only his name on the back.
R. Ashwinhas superstition with bats. This record holder batsman carries a bat, which he believes is not only lucky for him, but for the entire Indian team as well! Even though he’s only played two games during the World Cup, he carried it for all the matches which fortunately for him, ended up with India winning.
