Japan's legendary motorcycle maker Yamaha has launched its tremendous bike MT-15 in India. Priced at ₹ 1.36 lakh, the bike is essentially the version of the very popular Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 which is already on sale in India. It is most anticipated Bike and the booking of the bike will start soon. The company recently released a teaser of bikes too. So let's know the special things about the bike-
The Indian version of the bike is markedly different from the one that was company launched in Indonesia.The Indian version of the Yamaha MT-15 is powered by 155.1 cc single-cylinder SOHC, liquid-cooled engine. The engine has 6 speed gearboxes.The bike comes with the Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and has a power output of 19 bhp with a peak torque of about 14.7 Nm.
MT-15 has 10 liters of fuel tank capacity, 155mm ground clearance and 138kg of kerb weight. Yamaha has also changed the final gear ratios and ECU settings to dig better gear and mid-range power. It makes MT-15 faster than the R15.
In the Indian version of Yamaha MT-15, the telescopic forks are at the front. Indian models also come with black finished alloy wheels as opposed the global version with red-ended alloys. In contrast to R15, there is also a single channel ABS, which receives Dual Channel ABS. For the audience, the bike looks aggressive and has very muscular styling, and fast-looking twin headlamps.
The price of this new model has been kept at 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is less than R15 version 3.0.
In India, this bike will compete with tremendous bikes like Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS, KTM 125 DUKE and TVS Apache 4V ABS etc.
