Maruti Suzuki has has decided to ring down the production of its famous SUV car - Gypsy in India. This is one of Maruti's best selling cars. Maruti launched its car in 1985 and 33 years later company has announced official notification about the discontinuation of the model. The 33-year-old Gypsy was Maruti's third car which entered the market after Maruti 800 and Omni.

Although the vehicle was available on a made-to-order basis. Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has been popular among enthusiasts because of its optional AWD layout and strong off-roading prowess.

The decision to discontinue the Gypsy came because Maruti had to bear huge costs for the car to fit tight security and emission norms these days.

In 2017, the Indian Army had also said goodbye to good Ol 'Gypsy by switching to Safari Storm.

According to some rumors Suzuki is likely to introduce the new generation Jimny in India sometime soon. But company did not say any official words about the new car .
