Porsche has launched the updated version of the Macan luxury SUV in India. Following a comprehensive upgrade, the company has now made available the Macan & Macan S at Indian dealerships with prices starting at Rs 69.98 lakh (ex-showroom) and 85.03 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The entry-level Macan packs a four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine of 2.0-litre that develops 252hp and 370Nm of torque. Those seeking a more powerful engine will be interested in the Macan S, which is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine that makes 354hp and 480Nm of torque. All that added punch means the Macan S can do 0-100kph in just 5.3sec (1.4sec quicker than the four-cylinder Macan) and clock a top speed of 254kph. What’s remarkable is that at Rs 85 lakh, the facelifted Macan S costs just Rs 5 lakh more than the pre-facelift, four-cylinder Macan, and Rs 7 lakh more than its rival-in-chief, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43.
In a first for Porsche in India, the Macan facelift will be available with customised service packages priced starting at Rs 1.43 lakh for the base Macan and going up to Rs 1.52 lakh for the Macan S.
Porsche has also offered an evolved design language that is visible in the new Macan, giving it a more distinct look. The front features LED technology as standard while the 3D LED light panel in the rear offers a new look. The company is offering four new exterior colours – Mamba Green metallic, Dolomite Silver metallic, Miami Blue & Crayon.
