Art of Living pays Rs. 4.75 crore to DDA as compensation


The Art of Living establishment has stored Rs 4.75 crore "environment remuneration" with Delhi Development Authority as coordinated by the National Green Tribunal for harming Yamuna's biodiversity amid its 'Reality Culture Festival' in March.


Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living kept the earth pay through an interest draft to the DDA on June 3. "Specialty of Living establishment has presented an interest draft of Rs 4.75 crore according to the requests of the National Green Tribunal on June 3," advocate Kush Sharma, showing up for DDA, told PTI.


The green board had on June 3 coordinated the master advisory group headed by Shashi Shekhar, Secretary of Ministry of Water Resources to review the site on Yamuna floodplains where the three-day celebration was composed, before June 10.


The board had likewise requested that present a "complete and far reaching" report in a fixed spread by July 4.


The Bench had said that if the investigation was not done before June 10, the entire motivation behind the visit by the master council would be "vanquished" as there were odds of downpour.


It had likewise said that other than Shekhar, the examination council would include senior researcher from National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Professor C R Babu, Professor A K Gosain, Professor Brij Gopal and two more individuals.


The tribunal had hammered the establishment for not storing the earth pay forced on it saying it was "wilful infringement" of its endeavors.
