The superintendent of Sum Hospital, who was among the four officials arrested in connection with a major fire at the medical facility, was today admitted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack after complaining of chest pain.
Pushparaj Samantasinghar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Cardiology Department of the SCB Hospital, a police official said.

Other than Samantasinghar, police had captured Electrical Maintenance Engineer Amulya Sahu, Fire Safety Officer Santosh Das and Junior Engineer (Electrical Maintenance) Malaya Kumar Sahu of the private doctor’s facility regarding the burst which murdered 20 people.
The captures were made yesterday on the premise of the FIR stopped by the Directorate of Fire Services. The FIR was held up at the Khandagiri police headquarters here by B Das, Fire Officer (Central Range).
In the mean time, Director General of Fire Service Binay Behera yesterday presented an answer to the state government on the fire that desolated parts of the private healing center.
Behera in his report has specified that fire security standards according to the 2013 rules were not trailed by the healing center powers, an authority said.
