New Delhi: Apple announces the opening of new office in Hyderabad focused on development of Apple’s Maps services. Apple said the investment in the Hyderabad office will help the company accelerate the development of its Maps offering, and will create up to 4,000 jobs.
This is the second major announcement Apple has made during Tim Cook‘s maiden visit to India as Apple’s CEO. Yesterday the company had announced plans to open an app design and development accelerator in Bengaluru.
“Apple is focused on making the best products and services in the world and we are thrilled to open this new office in Hyderabad which will focus on Maps development,” said Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook. “The talent here in the local area is incredible and we are looking forward to expanding our relationships and introducing more universities and partners to our platforms as we scale our operations.”
Tim Cook will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other government officials. He is also expected to meet top business leaders.
