Amid Sikkim standoff, 2 Chinese Army tests battle tank in Tibet near Indian border


The Chinese military on Thursday said it has led trials of a light weight battle tank in Tibet close to the Indian fringe.

The 35-ton tank has completed trials in the fields of Tibet, PLA representative Col Wu Qian said in a media briefing here.

He was reacting to inquiries regarding media reports that the People’s Liberation Army has completed an activity including another sort of 35-ton light weight tank in Tibet.

At the point when asked whether it is targeted against India, the PLA representative stated, “The reason for existing is to test the parameters of the equipment and is not focused against any country.”
