Alwar: Police officials have conveyed that, on Thursday a debt-ridden farmer supposedly committed suicide by lynching himself from a tree in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. On Wednesday 38-yr-old Tuhiram Jat hanged himself from a tree in his farm in Sogar village beneath Kumher police station.
Police officer Jaldeep Yadav has also conveyed that, his brother told he had taken a loan of Rs 4 lakh and was incapable to repay. So, he was in stress. The family associates conveyed Tuhiram left his home in morning for the farm with a rope.
He had sown barley crop in his farm but due to defeciency of water the crops failed. The depressed farmer hanged himself from a tree in the close by jungle. The occurrence came to the notice of the people who went to the forest to graze cows.
Family members conveyed that he had taken agriculture loan of about Rs 3-4 lakh from the Sogar Agriculture Cooperative Society through Kisan Credit Card and rural cooperative bank. He lives with his wife and two sons. His mother also lived with him. The body was handed over to family following post- mortem.
