Alwar: 2 working inside tunnel died as rock collide


Alwar: On Wednesday two labourers killed following a rock collide as they were working inside an under construction tunnel under Sadar police station area of city. The dead have been recognized as 29-yr-old Chandar Singh resident of Himachal Pradesh and Sanju Kumar (25) a resident of Nepal.

They were operational inside a construction tunnel which is being constructed by the defence research and development organization (DRDO). Both rushed to Rajiv Gandhi hospital in Alwar where they were affirmed as brought dead.

As per the police there were eight laborers who were working inside when the mishap took place. Police officials further conveyed that, in rainy season, the rock becomes slippery and might can caused accidents.

Though, the official asserted that construction of the tunnel is being continued in accordance with the quality standards of the DRDO. The bodies of the departed have been kept inside the mortuary of the hospital. Police will register a case.

The officials further added that, we are examining the whole case, counting the blasting that took place inside the tunnel. We have taken statements of the people who were there inside the tunnel when the occurrence took place. The family members of the departed have been informed about the death.
