New Delhi: Batsman Ajinkya Rahane has promised "aggressive" cricket from Team India in the 5-match One Day International series against New Zealand starting on Sunday (October 16) here.
The two countries recently met over three Tests and the Indians' new attacking style saw them claim a 3-0 win against the visiting Kiwis, who struggled to handle them.
It is now onto the one-dayers, with the first match to be played in Dharamasala on Sunday.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will return to lead the side for the opening three fixtures of the five-match series and will be looking to set the tone.
He will be joined in the middle-order by Rahane and the 28-year-old says his team are planning on continuing with their new-found exciting brand of cricket.
"The kind of cricket we played in the Test series, our intent was aggressive all the time," he told reporters. "So here again our intent will be aggressive, play intensive cricket and play to our strength rather than focusing on opponent's strengths and weaknesses."
