A Dubai-bound Air India flight from Calicut with 62 travelers on board up was redirected to Mumbai today taking after a burning odor in the cockpit.
The flight landed securely at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here at 12.50 pm, an air terminal authority said.
The officer of the flight AI-937 working on Calicut-Dubai route sought priority landing from the Mumbai airport regulation after there was a burning scent in the cockpit however no smoke was distinguished, the authority said.
The Airbus A321 aircraft is presently grounded and a group of Air India engineering division is doing its examination. Air India representative was not accessible for remarks.
