Again Pakistan violates ceasefire, targets 4 Indian posts in Naushera sector of Kashmir


Srinagar:  Unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Naushera sector in Jammu and Kashmir was reported earlier this morning. The Pakistan troops fired along LoC, targeting four Indian posts. No causalities have been reported so far.

“There was unprovoked firing from small arms on forward areas in Naushera sector of Rajouri district along the LoC by Pakistani troops”, PRO, Ministry of Defence, Jammu said.  Indian troops guarding the LoC retaliated, he said, adding no one was injured in the ceasefire violation.

A senior Army officer said there have been over 25 ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir after surgical strikes by Army troops in PoK to dismantle terror launching pads. In the firing and shelling, five civilians and four armymen had sustained injuries in Poonch district. Nine Pakistani armymen were injured in retaliatory action by Indian troops along LoC.

On September 30, they had opened fire from small arms along the LoC in Pallanwala, Chaprial and Samnam areas of Akhnoor sector of Jammu district. While, on October 1, Pakistani troops targeted the Indian posts along the LoC in J&K’s Akhnoor tehsil. No casualties or injury was reported in the firing.

Pallanwala sector of Jammu district became the next target of firing and shelling on October 2 by the Pakistani troops. On 5 October, the Pakistan troops violated the border ceasefire four times as they resorted to heavy shelling and firing on Indian posts and civilian areas in Poonch, Rajouri and Kupwara districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations in Sunderbani and Krishnagati sectors in Rajouri and Poonch district, said Defence PRO Manish Mehta.

On October 8, Pakistani troops had fired on forward Indian posts along Mendhar-Krishnagati sector in Pooch district resulting in injuries to one jawan. On October 5, Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire thrice and resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling targeting several Indian posts and civilian areas in three sectors of Poonch and Rajouri districts.
