Apply now at University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata for admissions to Master of Philosophy (MPhil) programme in various disciplines. University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata has released an official notification inviting all the interested, eligible candidates for admission to Master of Philosophy (MPhil) programmes in Bengali, Urdu, Ancient Indian History & Culture, Commerce, Sociology Sanskrit, Education, English, Pali, History, Women Studies, Political Science, Hindi, and Library & Information Science for the academic session 2017. All the eligible candidates are requested to apply through prescribed format latest by November 25.

Eligibility criteria:

Educational qualification:

All the candidates interested in applying need to possess a degree in Master of Arts (MA)/Master of Science (MSc)/Master of Commerce (MCom) from a recognised university/institute with not less than 55 per cent in aggregate.

Candidates who are taking MA/MSc/MCom/MLIS or equivalent Part – II examination and or final semester examination in the above mentioned subjects may also apply.

Selection procedure:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test and interview/viva-voce conducted by the institute.

Candidates who have qualified NET and or SET or any equivalent National Level Examination are exempted from the written test, but not from the interview/viva-voce.
