NEW DELHI: US immigration department detained Bollywood Actor Shah Rukh Khan at Los Angeles airport on Friday.
ShahRukh tweeted, “I fully understand & respect security with the way the world is, but to be detained at US immigration every damn time really really sucks.”
Earlier, also Shahrukh Khan was detained at New York airport in year 2012 for over two hours by immigration officials. Later, they apologized for the incident. Also, in 2009 he was detained by US immigration officials at New York Liberty International Airport because his name was captured at computer alert list.
“Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself, I always take a trip to America. The immigration guys kicked the star out of stardom,” Khan said.
During the incident, he was interrogated several questions by the US officials. At the time of checking his hang baggage was also checked. Moreover, he was not given permission to make a phone call for nearly an hour.
ShahRukh said, “I told them I was a movie star and had recently visited the country for the shooting of my film. Nothing seemed to convince the immigration officer. There were other immigration officers who even vouched for me but this particular officer did not listen to anyone. I even told them I had an invitation from the South Asian community and was there to attend an event.”
