AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan writes to Arivind Kejriwal, resigns from all posts


New Delhi: Delhi Waqaf Board Chiarman and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Okhla, Amantullah Khan has resigned from all posts. He wrote to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and resigned from all posts.

In his letter to CM Arvind Kejriwal, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan wrote that he want to serve the people of Delhi with honesty and dedication. But some people do not like my work. He wrote that both he and his family are facing false allegations and he is tired of giving explanation. My family and I are being accused of false allegations. I am tired of defending myself in front of the public. Therefore I would like to get relieved of all responsibilities party has given me, I resign from all posts."

In July this year, a 35-years-old woman claimed that the she had telephoned Khan on July 10 and later went to his Batla House residence to raise the issue of power cuts with him. But the minister did not meet her and while she was returning, a youth came out of the house, abused her and threatened that she would be killed if she did not stop politicising the matter.

Khan was the Chairman of Delhi Waqf Board and was also involved in an alleged recruitment scam in the Waqf Board where ACB launched a preliminary inquiry against him.
