A major fire in five-storey building near Bombay Stock Exchange

A major fire broke out in a five-story building close Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in South Mumbai, yet no setback was accounted for, authorities said.

"The blast began from an office on the third floor in JK Somani building in Fort around 9.30 pm," authorities at BMC's Disaster Control room said.

Four fire motors, three water planes and an emergency vehicle have been squeezed into the putting out fires operation, they said, including efforts are on to douse the fire.

Further details are awaited.
