NEW DELHI: Late on Sunday night of East Delhi an eight-year-old girl sleeping outside her house was kidnaped by three men, taken to a jungle area and gang raped. The occurrence took place in Mandawali.
The police came to know about the offense following the girl was taken to a hospital by her family members.
She is at present admitted in AIIMS Trauma Center. By Monday evening three men, Amir, Bhim Sen and Santosh alias Bhure, were detained for the crime. The indicted are daily wage labourers and stayed in the girl's neighbouring hutments. An FIR under IPC Section 376D and Section 6 of POCSO Act has been filed and the indicted have been sent to Tihar Jail.
The police conveyed they will register a charge sheet within a month. On Sunday around 11pm, Bhure gagged the sleeping girl with his hand and took her to the jungle area near the Yamuna river bank. The three men then raped the girl.
Afterward, they discarded the girl near her house and fled. The girl, hemorrhage copiously from her private parts, creep her way home and called out to her parents. The child's father, an agricultural labourer has also further conveyed that, I was horrified to see my child's situation. The men had tied a bloodstained cloth around her neck and left her near the house.
She fainted after I picked her up. Her ordeal had lasted nearly two hours following she was kidnapped. The family hurried her to the nearby Lal Bahadur Shashtri hospital. The police were informed and, as the girl was critical, she was taken to AIIMS Trauma Center and admitted in the ICU.
Police officers recorded the statements of the child's parents and introduced a manhunt to capture the indicted. By Monday morning around 25 policemen were sent in squads and the trio was nabbed. They were produced before a magistrate in the afternoon who sent them to judicial custody for 14 days.
