7 killed, 17 wounded after a bus loses control near Hoshiarpur


Police officials have conveyed that, seven persons counting four women were killed and 17 offended on Sunday after they were mowed down by bus near Hoshiarpur. They also have further conveyed that, the bus was going to Ludhiana from Chintpurni in Himachal Pradesh when the mishap took place. Due to supposed failure of brakes, the bus driver lost control over the vehicle and shoved it into a stall on the road side where society kitchen was being served and killed seven persons. A number of stalls had been upright on the Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni route due to the ongoing pilgrimage of Sawan Ashtami fair of the holy temple of Goddess Chintpurni.

16 injured persons were confessing to a Civil Hospital from where 3 were referred to PGI, Chandigarh below critical condition. One injured person was admitted in a private hospital. For now, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal uttered shock and anguish over the tragic bus accident. Badal obtainable condolences to the bereaved families, and conveyed the state administration will bear all expenses for the treatment of the wounded. The chief minister also asked the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Hoshiarpur to expand all possible help to the family members of the late.
