Udaipur: A 60-yr-old Ahmedabad businessman was abducted by four-five unrecognized men in SarvraRitu Vilas area under Surajpole police station of Udaipur. The incident occurred on Monday in broad daylight in densely populated commercial area which is hardly 100 meters away from the Udaipole chowky.
Police officials conveyed that the man recognized as Suraj Narayan Sharma, resident of Navkar Complex in Naroda of Ahmedabad, who made recent trips to Udaipur for business purpose. The whole occurrence has been caught in a CCTV footage installed close building in the area and the hotel owner where the fatality had been staying, recognized the old man and the hotel owner made the complaint to the police.
DYSP Bhagwat Singh Hinger has also conveyed that Suraj is into the business of purchase and sale of metal scraps. He acquires dumped cars of the excise department through auction. On 19th August August he reached Udaipur and had been staying at Hotel SarvRitu Vilas. At about 5.15 pm he was coming hotel when abruptly a white swift car stopped.
Heramb Joshi, circle inspector Surajpole police station conveyed that, as per the CCTV footage four to five men come out of the car and haulled the old man forcibly into the car. The kidnappers couldn’t be recognized as they hide their faces.
All were in black shirts and one of them had a cap. The car in which the kidnappers come had no number plate and therefore the vehicle couldn’t be identified. The occurrence was so frequent that no one nearby noticed and by the time people could comprehend what had occur the car misplaced into the busy streets.
The reasons behind the kidnap not known, though, police suspect financial dealings could be the cause.
