JAISALMER: Six youth most of them hailing from Pali district, were arrested by the Police from Maharashtra in the alleged attempt of robbing a jewellery showroom in Balotara town of Barmer district a month ago.

As the culprits in the case suffered huge losses in their businesses they planned the robbery, according to the police reports. One of them was caught with the help of the public on the day of the incident. Barmer SP Gangadeep Singla said that on October 19, a few armed unidentified youths had entered the MG Gold Jewellers showroom at Moti market in Balotara.

The sibling of the showroom proprietor saw the occurrence on the CCTV and raised an alert, driving the thieves to clear out. One of the culprits, Shrawan Kumar, an inhabitant of Sumerpur of Pali locale, was arrested while attempting to escape and sent to imprison.

Taking after the episode, police groups went to Gujarat, Maharashtra, particularly Mumbai, looking for the charged.
