SRINAGAR: The incident took place on Monday when the Army killed around 5 terrorists in Uri sector of Kashmir. It also foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC).
"Alert troops noticed some suspicious movement along the Line of Control in Uri Sector in north Kashmir's Baramulla district this morning and challenged the intruders," an Army official said.
“The intruders opened firing towards the Army positions which was retaliated by the soldiers.” Army official added.
"Two militants were killed in the initial firing while three others were killed late in the day," the official said.
The investigation is in process in the Uri area of Kashmir. Moreover, from the scene of gunbattle arms, ammunition and war-like stores were recovered.
In the past three weeks, it is the fourth infiltration bid foiled by the Army along the LoC in Kashmir. About 12 militants were killed in the battle.
