At least five were killed and 89 harmed in a gas pipeline blast in northeastern China, leading news organization provided details regarding Wednesday, the second savage episode of its kind this week.
The blast happened at around 2.45 p.m. local time (0645 GMT) on Tuesday in Songyuan city in Jilin territory, Xinhua refered to government authorities there as saying. It didn’t name the proprietor of the pipeline.
Xinhua said workers had been repairing a segment of the pipeline where there had been a leak. It said the blast had influenced patients and staff at a nearby hospital yet gave no other details.
Rescue efforts were in progress and an examination had been propelled.
The Songyuan blast took after a comparable incident in southwest China`s Guizhou Provinces on Sunday, when no less than eight individuals were killed in a natural pipeline explosion. That pipeline was worked by China National Petroleum Corp.
