Famous or not-so-famous, no woman deserves to be physically abused by her partner. It’s a shame that abusing women in our society is taken as a sign of masculinity. And even some of the celebrities who we admire so much and often look up to them, fail to stand up to our expectations when they abuse their wives or girlfriends.
When it comes to relationships, the insanely good looking Salman Khan is a bad boy. Time and again his lovely ladies have accused him of physical abuse. At first it was Somy Ali, a Pakistani actress, on whom he poured a drink at a party in a fit of rage. Later, the newspapers were filled with stories of physical fights with the most beautiful and talented Aishwarya Rai.
In 2010, Rahul Mahajan married a Kolkatta based model Dimpy Ganguly at the end of reality show, Rahul Ka swayamwar. But in less than four months, the relation hit the sour note where Dimpy accused Rahul of physical abuse and walked out of his house.
In one of the interview, Dimpy Ganguly said, “Rahul beat me up early in the morning after waking me up to know the contents of a message that had beeped on my phone. When I asked him to go back to sleep, he flew into a rage and began hitting me. He punched, kicked and dragged me by hair.”
Rahul and Dimpy got divorced on February 25, 2015.
Rahul Mahajan's first wife Shweta Singh had also accused him of physically abusing her.
The grey eyed tall actor from the Indian film industry is often in the news for his affairs and link ups. When he was dating Pooja Bedi, he was alleged to have raped her fifteen year old maid. Later, while he was having an affair with Kangana Ranaut who was more than twenty years his junior, he was reported to have assaulted her physically. She even filed a case against him when he barged into her home, beat her up and caused damage to the property but he got scot free.
A Bhojpuri film actor and producer, Raja Chaudhary, is more popular for his frequent violent behaviour, especially with his ex-wife Shweta Tiwari, than his acting skills. In an interview, Shweta revealed all about the physical violence she faced from her ex-husband Raja. She was even quoted as saying:
“Kitna tolerate kiya tha. He burnt my wrists with cigarettes. He picked up and threw me against the walls. He used to physically and verbally abuse me in front of my parents.”
Rashmi Desai and Nandish Sandhu tied the knot in February 2011. However, their relationship went sour in just two years after marriage.
Few months back, actress Rashmi Desai was quoted saying, “In a marriage, I know its two people's responsibility – but my relationship was always abusive. I’ve not been staying with him for more than 3 years now, and there are so many things I could've revealed about him if I wanted to.”
Few of the media reports stated that Nandish’s extra-marital affair led to the separation.
