The 43rd Director General-level border co-ordination Conference will be held today in New Delhi between the Border security Force (BSF) and the Bangladesh Border Guards (BGB). It will get over on October 5.
In the six day conference, around 22 members will be a part of the conference. It will be addressed by Major General Aziz Ahmed, Director General, Border Guards Bangladesh.
Apart from them, senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and other law enforcement agencies will also participate in the conference.
On October 3, the first session of the conference will be held between the BSF and BGB at the BSF headquarters, CGO Complex, New Delhi.
For the bilateral talks, Senior officers of BSF, MHA, MEA, NIA and other sister agencies will also participate.
In the conference, border-related issues will be discussed for better coordination between the border guarding forces of the two countries.
Also, major issues like trans-border crimes, smuggling of cattle, drugs, activities of Indian insurgent groups based in Bangladesh, prevention of illegal migration, joint efforts for effective implementation of coordinated border management plan and confidence building measures will be discussed.
The session will get concluded on October 4. Also, the signing of joint record of discussions between the DG BSF and DG BGB will commence.
Earlier, the conference was held in May 2016 in Dhaka.
