NEW DELHI: An unemployed man depressed over wife’s death allegedly strangled his two sons to death in Mahendra Park Area of Delhi on Wednesday. When police came to know about the incident, he was detained.
The name of the accused has been identified as Mukesh Antil who allegedly stifled his two sons, Ayush (15) and Lucky (8) with a rope between 5 and 6 AM at their four-storeyed house in Sanjay Nagar colony on Wednesday.
The police revealed that he was depressed due to several issues.
"His wife, Jyoti, had died last year due to Hepatitis A and he was quite depressed over losing her. He was also frustrated with his children, who he thought were irresponsible and not interested in studies. He was involved in a dispute case over his house with the MCD and that was upsetting him as well. He was also unemployed after he had quit his job owing to his wife's illness," said a senior police officer.
