The incident took place on Wednesday morning when a 37-year-old man died after a fire broke out in South Delhi’s Hauz Khas village. The speculations are saying that the fire originated from a short-circuit. The investigation is in process.
The name of the person has been identified as Gaurav Taneja while his wounded friend is 23-yr old Anklora from France, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (south district) Nupur Parsad said.
“After the incident, the victims were taken to Safdarjung Hospital where Taneja was declared brought dead on arrival, while his friend is recuperating,” she added.
The incident came to limelight after they got a call at 5.45 am from Hauz Khas, Fire Department officials said.
“After receiving the PCR call, three fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was put out within two hours,” officials said.
He further added that, “Though it was a minor one, but the area being congested, firemen took more than an hour to douse the flames.”
