3 killed, 6 wounded in road accident at Natham


Madurai: On Tuesday three persons, who were travelling in a mini truck carrying floor tiles, were killed following the vehicle overturned near Natham in Dindigul district. Six persons, counting the truck driver, have undergone slight injuries.

Police officials have also further conveyed that, the truck was on its way to Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district. A police officer has also further conveyed that, the fatality had come to Dindigul to buy tiles for their houses and a church.

 While four of them were inside the vehicle's cabin, the rest were laying over the load. The misfortune happened around 2.30am when the vehicle was transient through Sambaipatti near Natham. It ran off the road previous to overturning.

The departed were recognized as Ignatius Joseph, 35, and Kalidoss, 45, from Melaiyur near Thiruvadanai and Arockiyam, 55, of Karungudi. Six more persons counting Rajappan, 45, the driver of the truck hailing from Anupparpatti near Thadikombu in Dindigul district, continued injuries. Commuters who congested at the mishap spot passed the report to the police.

The offended were rushed to the Natham administration Hospital. A case was registered at Natham Police Station and additional investigations are on. Police suspect that the driver could have fallen asleep at the wheel.
