Chennai: Narcotics Control Bureau has seized 3.690 kilos of an extremely unadulterated type of cocaine worth around Rs 10 crore in the global market and captured a Brazilian national for having the medication.
Following up on a tip off, NCB powers looked the lodging room of Dasilva Jailson in rural Pallavaram on Friday and grabbed the cocaine from his ownership in one of the biggest seizures of its kind.
In a public statement here, NCB Zonal Director Prem Anand Sinha yesterday said the Brazilian had gone from Rio de Janeiro to Chennai by means of Dubai.
"In spite of the fact that Dasilva Jailson had a substantial vacationer visa from August 2016 to February 2017, he was wanting to leave the nation on 24 September in the wake of conveying the dispatch," he said.
The seized cocaine was sandwiched on both sides of external front of four journals and seven parcels were kept in the middle of seven kids' books.
"The seized stash is worth around Rs 10 crores in neighborhood illicit market and is one of the biggest cocaine seizures made in the district," Sinha said.
